The ToolCubes, developed by Leverage Robotics, are automatically interchangeable tools for robots that enable a robot to perform a variety of tasks. They extend the functions of a simple two-finger gripper with a range of options, including vacuum gripping, centered gripping of round objects and magnetic gripping of ferromagnetic objects, while retaining the capabilities of the parallel gripper. They are compatible with a standard robotic gripper and are completely passive, meaning they do not require a power supply or vacuum generation. It is only necessary to replace the existing gripper jaws with the supplied gripper jaws. The ToolCubes can be positioned and used anywhere in the work area, avoiding unnecessary long travel distances and reducing cycle times. The use of ToolCubes minimizes set-up times and significantly increases the flexibility of the robot system.
